Within worlds there are other worlds, infinitely, if we dare explore the undefined, beyond the borders of the known and be comfortable with the uncertainty that floating freely in a/the creative-academic limbo comes with. To embrace contradiction, complexity and complications without restraint. This self-reflexive scholarly essay will share reflections and ideas that were sparked by reading the article entitled ‘Introduction: A Dialogue’ (2013), by Professor of Political Science and Asian American Studies at the University of California, Clair Jean Kim and University of California Santa Cruz’s Professor of Literature and History of Consciousness, Carla Freccero.

The two distinguished academics use the various studies — race theory, gender studies and species/animal studies as points of departure in co-articulating the myriad of thematic concerns that exist where these dynamically interlock and co-constitute, with difference and similarities co-existing within these linkages.
